Navigating the art market can be one of life’s great intellectual adventures, and it is much more rewarding with an expert guide.
The past 50 years of the art market has seen contemporary art buyers and collectors move from taking advice from dealers and galleries, then buying directly from auction houses and more recently viewing the market through the experience of Art Fairs. Today’s market has grown so broad and international that to experience it all is best achieved with an independent, expert guide, not affiliated to one of the main points of sale.
Stephen McCoubrey has over 20 years experience of navigating the contemporary art world in markets across the world, with long standing experience of collection building in the established US and European markets and the developing markets in the Middle East and Asia, having acquired thousands of works of art for clients from across a wide range of values and geographies. He also has experience of wide ranging collection and project management, and a long history of curating and managing major public exhibitions at museums and locations throughout Europe and Asia, and events in association with major brands and museums including Art Basel, Tate and Guggenheim.
These experiences mean Stephen has built a huge network around the world including dealers, auction houses, museum curators, collectors, art advisers, journalists, logistics suppliers and artists, and gives him an unusually broad overview of the global art market.
